Message from the Minister

Dear Friends

As a new Methodist year dawns upon us, we currently have 193 people in our church, made up of 88 members and 105 adherents receiving pastoral care. The congregation size averages 80 each Sunday. In addition we have 15 children in Junior Church. (9 up to the age of 10 in Sunday Club and 6 over 10 years in the Jesus Squad.)

At the momemt our services are 'traditional' with All Age Service every month following "The Ark". The congregation welcomes different types of service formats and church has the benefit of PowerPoint facilities to enhance the worship experience with photos, images, video and printed prayers and hymns. Hopefully this will be made easier and enhanced when we come to refurbish the church.

Our vision is to develop new initiatives and we are in the process of exploring plans to refurbish the church and create a more flexible suite of premises. Our present commitment is to develop and extend our work amongst children, young people and their families. The appointment of a new minister in September should have this as a priority task. We shall continue to work with other churches in the town to reach out to those within our community and proclaim the Gospel of good news.
