Aims and Aspirations
*Short term:
Aim: To gather a group of people to work at church refurbishment.
Purpose: To create a church that is functionally adaptable and more useful for us in a variety of worship styles and has greater accessibility for use by the wider community in Crediton.
*Longer term:
1. Aim: To develop an active prayer and healing ministry within the church.
Purpose: To strengthen the prayer life of the church and foster the use of prayer in healing and caring within our community.
2. Aim: To develop ‘The Ark’ our ‘Fresh Expression’ of Church that reaches out to young families in the town.
Purpose: To reach more young families with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
*To maintain:
1. Aim: To create and support opportunities for links with other Christians in the town, particularly through monthly services in the town’s care homes and the ecumenical chaplaincy to Crediton Hospital.
Purpose: To enrich each others’ Christian lives both corporately and individually enabling us to reach out more effectively, in unity, to our community.
2. Aim: To continue to provide lunches monthly through Luncheon Club.
Purpose: To provide fellowship, a caring environment and hot nutritious meals to elderly people who usually eat by themselves.
3. Aim: To support the ecumenical team that reaches out to the people of Crediton who have learning disabilities.
Purpose: To actively provide a safe, loving and caring place for people with learning disabilities to meet weekly and be staffed; also share with other Christians in Monthly Worship.
4. Aim: To increase our outreach work with children and young families through Toddlers Group.
Purpose: That parents and carers of very young children can meet regularly for social interaction and support.
5. Aim: That the work of Knit and Natter Group might continue to embrace the wider community and develop greater communication with local churches for the sharing of resources.
Purpose: To support both financially and through the provision of warm clothing, families in Odessa (Ukraine) through International Aid Trust whilst having fun.
